We are passionate about Quality Improvement and Patient Safety. Our duty as a chapter is to provide educational opportunities, scholarships, and resources for students in our community to be involved and impact our healthcare system for the greater good. As an executive of this club, you will be part of the movement and create your own ideas for the bigger picture in changing healthcare providers to thought leaders. - Act as liaison to Finance Commission (completion of AMS Treasurer Orientation)
- Act as one of the two Bookings Representatives of the club
- Act as the sole signing officer
- Responsible for biannual budget statements
- Recording, distributing and storing meeting minutes
- Organize weekly meeting agenda
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills & ability to prioritize time and tasks
- Prior understanding of AMS and/or budget management is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to organize numbers
- 1 hour weekly meetings + 3-4 hours/week
Digital Communication Director of IHI Open School UBC
Duties
- Develop and maintain branding and marketing materials, particularly on social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
- Oversee schedule and deadlines for IHI UBC communication output
- Track and manage marketing data from initiatives
- Create e-blasts, including a newsletter every other month and event notifications for subscribers
- Create posters to post in groups and print to distribute around campus
- Strong professional written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivation and initiative
- Prior experience working in a team and desire to work collaboratively
- Basic data analysis skills preferred
- Interest and aptitude for technology and ability to adapt to using various online tools including social media
- Previous experience using MailChimp preferred
- 1 hour weekly meetings + 2-3 hours/week
Workshop Director of IHI Open School UBC
Duties
- Create bi-weekly and/or monthly workshops for UBC Students.
- Lead and organize along with two other IHI Executives, workshop ideas and content that can be distributed to students.
- Complete/Start the IHI Basic Certificate (Patient Safety and Quality Improvement) and be able to understand/explain course content
- Previous experience with running a workshop and knowledge in quality improvement and healthcare is preferred
- Strong professional written and verbal communication skills
- Project management skills
- Self-motivation and initiative
- Organizational skills & ability to prioritize time and tasks
- Prior experience working in a team and desire to work collaboratively
- Prior exposure to health care quality improvement preferred
- Experience running workshops and teaching

Outreach Director of IHI Open School UBC

- Reach out to other organizations and healthcare institutions for possible collaboration ideas
- Network with other healthcare professionals to build reciprocal relationships with our club
- Act as a liaison for our existing partnerships with the Emerging Health Leaders (EML) Vancouver and the BC Patient Safety and Quality Council (BCPSQC)
- Run mentorship opportunities for members of the club in order for them to get in touch with other healthcare professionals.
- Previous experience with organizational partnerships and knowledge in the healthcare system is preferred
- Strong professional written and verbal communication skills
- This position is given extra preference to a student in Medical School

- Design event ideas for IHI Open School UBC events
- Contact healthcare professionals and organizations to collaborate on events
- Create ideas based off of Quality Improvement and Healthcare Improvement
- Work with two other Event Directors to maintain a collaborative relationship
- Advertise and create Social Media posters for events to be distributed around campus
- Brainstorm event timeline, preparation, setup and contact respective people
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Prior event planning experience preferred
- Ability to network and contact other organizations for collaboration
- Experience and contacts in the healthcare community preferred
