Mentorship Director (Mentorship Team) (1 position)
The mentorship program is a brand-new program launched this year at the IHI Open School UBC Chapter. Through collaboration with the BC Patient Safety and Quality Council, Emerging Health Leaders (EHL) Vancouver, Doctors of BC, IHI Open School and UBC, the program is aimed at providing students with mentorship opportunities around quality improvement and patient safety. There are two streams to the program, the General Stream and the Project Stream. The General Stream is based on the classic idea of mentorship and will connect prospective students with mentors in the community. The Project Stream will allow students to be involved in a hands-on project in the community. The future of this program involves potentially integrating into UBC curriculum. The official launch has been postponed to January as we continue the recruitment phase. Our hope is to add a new member to the team with mentorship experience and relationships in the community.
