Quality Improvement Scholarship
IHI UBC offers a scholarship to support students in pursuing educational opportunities to develop knowledge and skills in healthcare quality improvement!
Details:
In partnership with the BC Patient Safety and Quality Council (BCPSQC), IHI UBC is offering the Quality Improvement Student Scholarship. This Scholarship supports exceptional students in pursuing educational opportunities to develop knowledge and skills in health care quality improvement. Specifically, the Scholarship supports students interested in attending and/or presenting at high caliber inter-professional, quality improvement conferences during the 2014-2015 school year.
Eligibility:
Full-time UBC students in a health-related discipline who are members of IHI UBC are eligible to apply.
Successful applicants will receive support for conference fees (maximum $1500). Acceptable conference fees include registration costs, poster printing fee, airfare and accommodation. Awardees will be reimbursed once original receipts have been submitted.
Required Materials:
1. Letter of intent outlining the following
a) Name and purpose of the Quality Improvement (QI) conference you would like to attend
b) Personal and professional motivations for attending the conference
c) How you anticipate applying what you learn at the conference to the local Vancouver community
This letter is an opportunity for you to describe a QI project you would like to present at the conference or QI work you are currently involved with or are planning to become involved with in the near future. (max 2 pages)

3. Additional information: Please include the answers to the following questions
a. Agreement to present a brief presentation about your experience at the 2015 IHI UBC Speaker Series event
b. Agreement to complete a blog post outlining your experience at the conference you attended. The blog will be uploaded on the UBC IHI website (www.ihiubc.com)
Deadline for submission: Thursday October 16th, 2014 at 9pm. The scholarship application is now closed.
