Expert panel: Substance use disorder
November 19th, 2020 Substance use related deaths have been on the rise throughout the pandemic. So far this year, 909 people have died of an overdose in BC. As future healthcare providers it is our responsibility to provide high quality support to all patients, particularly those managing historically ignored and stigmatized medical conditions. If you would like to find out more how you can help patients who may struggle with substance use then you may be interested in our upcoming event! CAPSI x IHI are hosting a virtually panel discussion among a group of professionals working with this patient population. Panelists will share their experiences working with and supporting patients who struggle with substance use, as well as how they work with members of other healthcare disciplines to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Through the delivery of this event we aim to normalize the conversation surrounding substance use and promote a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. |
